BFAR 4A Relocates to Los Baños

The BFAR 4A Regional Office has been relocated recently in compliance with Executive Order (EO) No. 246 - DESIGNATING CALAMBA CITY AS REGIONAL CENTER OF REGION IV-A (CALABARZON) issued by Malacañang on October 28, 2003.

The EO states that “All national line agencies shall locate their regional offices in Calamba City as soon as possible and provide the necessary budgetary and other requirements for this purpose”. The choice of Calamba City, Laguna was backed by the Regional Development Council IV-A since the city has been established as a center of industrial development and urban activities. The EO further states that “the establishment of Calamba City as regional center will foster better coordination and promote efficiency in the discharge of functions between and among agencies operating in the CALABARZON area”.

BFAR 4A has chosen to temporarily relocate its Regional Office in its facility in RFRDC-FFRS compound in Barangay Bambang, Los Baños, Laguna instead of relocating in Calamba City because of lack of funds. Developments of the buildings are already on the way to accommodate all the divisions in the Regional Office. The Extension, Training, and Communication Division (ETCD) have already fully relocated early this September. The Fisheries Resource Management Division (FRMD) will relocate next to be followed by the rest of the divisions.

Other offices that have already relocated in Calamba City are the DENR, OWWA, CDA, POEA, DILG, and many others.
