The BFAR 4A Regional Office has been relocated
recently in compliance with Executive Order (EO) No. 246 -
DESIGNATING CALAMBA CITY AS REGIONAL CENTER OF REGION IV-A
(CALABARZON) issued by Malacañang on October 28, 2003.
The EO states that “All national line agencies shall
locate their regional offices in Calamba City as soon as possible
and provide the necessary budgetary and other requirements
for this purpose”. The choice of Calamba City, Laguna
was backed by the Regional Development Council IV-A since
the city has been established as a center of industrial development
and urban activities. The EO further states that “the
establishment of Calamba City as regional center will foster
better coordination and promote efficiency in the discharge
of functions between and among agencies operating in the CALABARZON
BFAR 4A has chosen to temporarily relocate its Regional Office
in its facility in RFRDC-FFRS compound in Barangay Bambang,
Los Baños, Laguna instead of relocating in Calamba
City because of lack of funds. Developments of the buildings
are already on the way to accommodate all the divisions in
the Regional Office. The Extension, Training, and Communication
Division (ETCD) have already fully relocated early this September.
The Fisheries Resource Management Division (FRMD) will relocate
next to be followed by the rest of the divisions.
Other offices that have already relocated in Calamba City
are the DENR, OWWA, CDA, POEA, DILG, and many others.
